Penn Manor High School8

Millersville, PA | Lancaster County

June 13, 2013

I feel the education I received during my time at Penn Manor adequately prepared me for college and helped me earn my bachelor's degree in 3.5 years. The administration and staff at PM were great. Most took the time to get to know me as an individual and made attending a good experience. They were always ready to help if needed. Now that I am married and starting a family, we have moved back into the Penn Manor School district so that our children can have the same educational opportunities that I had as a student. I would highly recommend this district (and I can specifically vouch for Conestoga Elem., Marticville Middle, and Penn Manor HS) to anyone!

Excellent school district. The visual art program is superior to any in the county, with a wide range of elective art class offerings and very dedicated art teachers.

Most teachers are fine, although there are those who's biases get in the way of connecting with certain students, and then don't care when they have to fail the student. The best math teacher I had who pushed me to do more than I'd let myself think I could had been my algebra one teacher Mr. Nguyen. The school, like many other high schools, blatantly advertises the military by means of posters and tables set up during the lunch periods for students to talk to members of various branches, assumed recruiters who know just what to say to these students, which isn't a fair tactic. It's just so easy for these young minds to be melded, and in glorifying the military, the school advocates and promotes the violence and acts of genocide that the military commits.

Penn Manor school district has been fantastic because of the time and consideration taken for all students to get a great education - not just those headed for college.

Penn Manor is among the best school districts in the County. Test scores and overall quality of education are improving every year, and both administration and teachers care about every student's success. For my children, I believe that Penn Manor is an equal or better overall high school than Manheim Township, Hempfield, or any other HS around.

Penn Manor offers a great cross-section of mainstream America. Being situated in a college town certainly has a positive impact on academics and many other activities. Since Lancaster county has a lot of farms there are rural students as well. Overall, the school provides a wide range of extracurricular activities to serve the interests of the population. Like any school, teachers vary but most are very good. Various sports teams are very competitive. The school is a good size, so students can mix with a wide range of people but still have a little anonymity-and people don't know everyone else's business.

No school will ever be perfect for everyone. You cannot expect teachers to teach everyone everything. After all, that's what parents are for. Penn Manor's faculty, staff, and administration does a great job reaching as many students as they can. Teachers can only help those that help themselves.

Both my children attend the High School. For my son the school is ok. For my daughter this school has been horrible. I would not recommend this school district. Since we moved here I feel my children have not gotten the education that they deserve. The only good thing that the school has is a good soccer team. The administration and teacher don't care for the average student. The parents are very clicky and are rude. I recommend sending your children to Manheim Township, at least there my children had gotten a great education. And if they needed any help they got it.

I've had 2 children graduate from Penn Manor High School. I've found the teachers to be very qualified and caring and the administration to be very helpful and direct. There is a wide range of activities for students to choose.

This school is awful, ran by Princpial Mindish, who is a condesending. Adminstration in Penn Manor believe that children should do as they are told by the adminstration without any question. This leaves children with low self estem and now you have young adults that are easiy led by others in their life. They do not encourge free thinking, and kids can't have an opinion. Children are spoke to by staff with disrespect, and yet they demand it themselves. They would never speak to an adult with the same attitude. Disipline is unfair and cruel. Many times the punishment doesn't fit the crime. Good Luck.
